What they didn't know is that Rita had brainwashed them so that once they're defeated, the defeated teams, whether Senior Citizens or teenagers, were imprisoned in her gem in which unknown sources say, "It's like Kamdor imprisoned Miratrix in the latter's gem after the latter's failure to destroy the Overdrive Rangers in 'Two Fallen Foes' ". No, Yaiba (Blade) of Darkness won't do that to Shizuka of the Wind. Instead, he almost killed her by slashing his sword to her face and parts of her body. Just watch Boukenger/Adventure Rangers Task 44 "The Hot Spring Of The Hermit" and you'll see what I mean.
